Eat. Live. Dine. Love.

There’s nothing like enjoying yourself, eating good food, and surrounding yourself around amazing people. This past weekend, that’s exactly what I did. After training for a half marathon and dealing with this bipolar weather, I was finally feeling up to some fun! I had been craving a burger for weeks. Ever since I was a little girl, a good hamburger always appeased my taste buds. My Hubby and I decided to go to one of our favorite spots, Mugshots Grill & Bar. If you’ve never been there, you should place it on your priority list–I promise you won’t regret it! Their buns are out of this world and their beer-battered and sweet potato fries are exquisite. Even if there’s not a Mugshots in your area, it’s worth planning a trip to the South just to dine there.

mugg1 Davis’ Dill Pickle Chips are…AMAZ-ING!

SGT. Pepper Jack (Burger) – topped with pepper jack cheese, an onion ring, and all the fixings + Beer-Battered Fries with a side of “COMEBACK” sauce! My Hubby decided to stick with his favorite – Anthony’s Peanut Butter Burger – Extra Creamy + Bacon. (not pictured)

NEXT STOP…The Movies!

Let me just say, The Best Man Holiday  was absolutely incredible! How do you top The Best Man? I remember being a Sophomore in college when it came out. I still listen to the original soundtrack like it was just released. Here it is 15 years later and the friends are back together again. I felt every emotion, you would have thought we were friends in real life! I cried and laughed and cried some more–nothing was left undone. You will pick up exactly where you left off and even if you’ve never seen part one, you won’t miss a beat. I’m not going to spoil it, but there’s a lot of girl talk and “Eye Candy” for the ladies and some real “Man Moments” between the Fellas all men can relate to. A true transparent journey with beautiful friends that will leave you wanting more. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next in the lives of these Fab Friends! *crossing fingers* Outstanding movie…support it!

Egg & I

The Egg & I + The Butler

This past Sunday (Funday) my HB and I decided to try out a new spot! I heard several people talk about this place called The Egg & I, so before our movie we thought we’d check it out. It must have been the place to be, because everyone was there! You get to load up on protein and carbs plus cheese eggs are the BEST! I had a hard time choosing what I wanted because EVERYTHING on the menu sounded amazing! I could taste it!

Egg & I

I went with the Wisconsin Scramble. It had 3 cheeses, topped with green onions and served with your choice of bacon or sausage, toast, and can’t forget those Ranch Potatoes–YUMMO!

I also wanted to try their pancakes. They were a popular menu item from what I observed. I asked my server for the smallest pancake they had which is the “baby cake” (pictured above) and it’s HUGE! I wish you could have seen my face. It’s on the thinner side, but it was totally more than what I was expecting.

If you have The Egg & I in your city, you should definitely check it out. Great food and family friendly atmosphere.

Next Stop…the Movies!

I went to the movies to see Fruitvale Station  two weeks prior and I was so excited when I saw the previews for Lee Daniels’ The Butler.  Oprah Winfrey, Jane Fonda, AND John Cusack?! I knew it was going to be a great film! I laughed and cried every single tear I had. The cast was STELLAR and I was riddled with emotion. I encourage EVERYONE to go see it–Powerful! A very heartfelt exhibition of the Civil Rights Era and our American history.

Cutie pie James Marsden as John F. Kennedy. You may remember him from X-Men, Enchanted, and 27 Dresses!

20130819-092805.jpgI was excited to see Yaya Alafia (previously DaCosta) on the big screen! I’ve been following this beautiful, young lady since her America’s Next Top Model  (ANTM) career. Loved seeing her in the role as an activist. It’s a very close depiction of her real life as she is an advocate for many issues that affect us.

I have quite a few movies on my list to see: Elysium, Jobs, and Mandela, just to name a few! Have you seen any good movies lately? If so, share them below!
